It is because of the Lord's mercy and loving-kindness that we are not consumed, because His [tender] compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great and abundant is Your stability and faithfulness. The Lord is my portion or share, says my living being (my inner self); therefore will I hope in Him and wait expectantly for Him. Lamentations 3:22-24
Recently, I have been reflecting about decisions that I need to make in my life. My continual prayer is for clarity of purpose and revelation knowledge about God’s plan for my life. This is a daily prayer because it has to be. We are faced with struggles and challenges on a daily basis, therefore, we need to be connected to the sustaining power of God on a daily basis. During the wilderness experience, the Israelites were totally dependent on God. Even in the midst of their grumbling and complaining, God was always there to meet their needs. For their sustenance, He provided them bread from heaven or manna. This manna was good only for the day it was given. It had to be gathered and eaten on that day. It could not be stored for later consumption because it would spoil and rot. According to God’s will, the manna provided on the sixth day would last an additional day so that His command to keep holy the Sabbath day could be adhered to. In the same way, God’s plans and revelations for our lives are new each day. We have to position ourselves to receive what God has for us. Our real battles are not the ones we see in this earthly realm. Our most impacting battles take place in the realm of the Spirit. For this reason, it is imperative that we seek God and His plans daily.
